How to Choose the Right Size Wall Art (With a Simple Cheat Sheet)
Choosing art you love is the easy part. Choosing the right size is where most walls go wrong, usually by going too small. This simple wall art size guide gives you clear rules and a quick cheat sheet so your prints look intentional, not lost.
The golden rule: fill two-thirds
Art hung above furniture should span roughly two-thirds of the width of the piece beneath it. Above a sofa, bed or console, that ratio instantly looks balanced and deliberate.
Hang at eye level
The centre of your art, or the centre of a group, should sit about 145 to 150 cm from the floor, which is average eye level. Above furniture, leave a gap of around 15 to 25 cm between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the frame.

- Above a sofa or bed: one large piece (A1 or A2), or a pair or trio that together span two-thirds of the width.
- Statement or feature wall: go large (A1) or use a bold grouping. This is not the place for a small print.
- Hallway or narrow wall: tall, vertical A2 or A3.
